Where is my Home

This is a poly fiber print on a banner measuring 61” x 50.” The original painting is 0n 100% rag Arches paper and measures 39” x 30." “"Where is My Home” could represent the complex, ever-changing nature of memory and experience in the face of displacement. This piece exerts a powerful narrative about the human experience of displacement, resilience, and the search for stability in a rapidly changing world. Through my artwork, I seek to capture the contradicting energy and serenity of an unpredictable natural internal psychological landscape as well as in the outer world of global events.

I create mixed-media collages, combining painting, drawing, and photography to present a "Requiem of Solace Series” This series seeks to capture acts or tokens of remembrance, tribute and reflection for the loss of home, youth and even life for all those who have suffered loss. The images here seek to provide a kind of indemnity or ode to the resilience evoked by these losses. Compensation comes from within the sufferer through the resurrection of recognizing loss and grief, reflection of the memories and a tribute to survival despite loss. Loss of home is reflected in the banners. Loss of youth is reflected in the “Kimono Series” presenting realization of the compensation of acquired wisdom obtained through the aging process.
